There’s always going to be something to do—errands, schoolwork, actual work and even housework! We can find ourselves constantly on the go and dealing with the fact that we have things to do but what happens when you’re two hours into work and you can’t bear to go on? You feel drained and ultimately, cannot focus on what you’re doing. Well, that’s when you take a break.
Breaks are important for everyone, no matter what your work philosophy is.
You’ll more than likely come back refreshed, having gotten your second wind, and ready to tackle the rest of your day. Luckily, a break can be whatever you want it to be a quick exercise, a snack or even just stretching to loosen up your body. An optimal break time would be 20 mins and how often you should take one varies about an hour and a half to two.
Do yourself a favor and give yourself breaks, not even just from work. Breaks from your day-to-day life are also important because we may find ourselves constantly on the grind and this can lead to burnout. You don’t have to go that route if you can notice that you need to unplug and recharge.
